FAQs: What? Why? Who? When? How?
What is a PTA / 'Friends of'?
A PTA is a group of volunteer parents and teachers who work together to make their school a better environment for children to learn. They raise extra funds through a wide range of fun and creative initiatives, events, and much, much more. They also play an important role in strengthening the school community. They may also be known as HSA, PA, PTFA, or Friends of.
In contrast, a Governing Body exists to support the strategic leadership of the school.
The Governing Body consists of staff, parents, educators, Robin Hood MAT colleagues and other community representatives. The governors have three main roles – Strategic Planning, Monitoring and Finance.
